The Mischievous Trio of Halloween Town: Lock, Shock, and Barrel

If Halloween Town had a prank department, Lock, Shock, and Barrel would be its founding members. These three tiny troublemakers are always scheming—whether it’s kidnapping Santa Claus, causing chaos in the town square, or gleefully singing about their latest mischief.
Crafting the Colorful Trio: A Crochet Adventure with Personality
Crocheting this trio was a whirlwind of color, shape, and personality. Each one has a distinct silhouette and vibe, which made stitching them feel like crafting three mini characters with their own quirks. These three characters were hard to love in the movie after their deplorable treatment of Santa Clause but luckly they were much more fun to crochet.

There was no need to stitch their faces, as their faces were stitched direclty onto their masks…and what would have been the point anyway? The humor of this trio is that their masks matched their faces anyway.
- Lock, with his devilish grin and pointed mask, was all about sharp angles and fiery red.
- Shock, the tallest of the bunch, has that witchy elegance—her hat and hair needed extra shaping to get just right.
- Barrel (not completed yet) round and wide-eyed, has been the most fun but also the most complex to make. His skeleton body requires each bone be crocheted seperately and then sewn on and his skull face is challenging, but once embroidered, it will give him that perfect mix of creepy and cute.

I styled them together for their final photo—They’re chaotic, yes, but also inseparable. Stitching them reminded me that sometimes the best stories come in threes.
