Allow me to introduce myself. I’m an adult single woman with a fabulous mother, wonderful father, two lovely sisters and …a brother sigh. Just kidding I love my brother. My youngest sister is the love of my life and pretty much everyone else’s that she meets. She is an adult as well who is blessed with an extra chromosome. For those of you that are not familiar with what that means, it means that she has down syndrome.
Every day is an adventure with my sister and every day is a new discovery through her child-like eyes. Thanks to her, we have lots of adventures of both the travel variety and stay at home variety. We always do our research before embarking on most of our adventures but we’ve learned from experience that nothing prepares a person more for the unknown better than either personal experience or the experience of others.
We recently visited Disney World for the first time and found that there were many things that we were not prepared for and many things that we wished we had known prior to going. After we returned home, we began discussing all of our experiences (there was a lot to unpack) and came to the conclusion that we wished someone had told us these things. All you get from Disney’s website are the highlights and of course that makes since. Disney is trying to sale a product. What we really needed however was to hear the good AND the bad. If all anyone ever hears are the good, they’re not getting a realistic picture of what to expect.
Cue Jennevere’s Round Table, a platform for sharing with everyone the good as well as the bad. The things we learned by either experience or the hard way.
So come on in! Pull up a chair, grab your favorite drink and let’s talk about our adventures. Let’s talk about the successes, the fails, the deals, the secret paths, the funny misadventures and the things we’ve learned to make each other’s lives easier.
