Welcome to Jennevere’s Round Table—a cozy corner of the realm where stories are stitched in yarn, and a little magic threads its way through every row.
A Whimsical Journey Through Spooky Delights
I remember the first time I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, and let me tell you—it was unforgettable! From the moment the screen lit up with those hauntingly beautiful visuals, I was captivated. The music? Absolutely exhilarating! I found myself bouncing in my seat with excitement—until the creepy creatures appeared, and I nearly jumped out of my skin. It was like a theme park thrill ride: one moment I was grinning ear to ear, the next I was gasping for breath.

As I grew older, my awe for the Nightmare Before Christmas only deepened. The sheer artistry of stop-motion animation is nothing short of mind-blowing. Can you imagine the team behind it, meticulously moving tiny puppets frame by frame? It must have felt like an overwhelming task—but Tim Burton and his fearless crew dove headfirst into that imaginative world and brought it to life.
So when I stumbled upon The Nightmare Before Christmas crochet kit, I was absolutely buzzing with excitement. The thought of bringing Burton’s whimsical world to life at the end of my crochet hook sent a thrill through me. I’ll admit, I was a little wary at first—one can’t always judge a book by its cover. But oh, did it deliver! Each pattern was astonishingly detailed, transforming yarn into characters that practically leapt off the page.

Celebrating the Magic of Characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas
In honor of this nostalgic, must-watch-every-Halloween (and Christmas!) movie, I thought I’d count down to Halloween by introducing each character I’ve crocheted from the book—starting, of course, with the Pumpkin King himself.
Before we begin, it would be lovely to hear from you: what is your favorite part of The Nightmare Before Christmas? Is it the romantic will-they-or-won’t-they dynamic that is shared between Jack and Sally? Is it the unforgettable opening sequence that gets stuck in your head for days? Or perhaps it’s the delightfully strange characters that are lurking around every corner?

Who’s your favorite character? And if you crochet, is there one you’d be most excited to make? Personally, Jack and Sally inspired me the most. I dedicated extra time to perfecting Sally, hoping to capture her essence in every detail.
It’s really amazing to think about the dedication that went into making this film. I can’t help but feel grateful for the boldness Burton showed in creating such a strange and beautiful world. A huge shoutout goes to Ilaria Caliri—her effort to bring Burton’s vision into the crochet world is truly magical. What a fantastic collaboration, bringing new life to our crafting adventures!
This book has been such a cozy companion on my crafting journey. If you’d like to add it to your own library, you can find it here. Using my link is a lovely way to support my work while filling your shelves with a little extra magic.
Until our needles meet again—may your story be stitched with legend, warmth, and wonder.
